Blue and Red

You've never been blue.
Like I've been blue.
I went swimming.
what could I do.

The tide rolled on in.
I didn't wear my fins.
The tide rolled out.
The end begins.

Blue is a state of mind.
Blue is a state of being.
Hold your breathe long enough you'll find.
Blue comes from just not breathing.

You've never been red.
You woke up in bed.
And angry heart ache.
Really bad head ache.

The tide rolled in
The red begins
The tide rolled out
you flounder about

Red is a state of mind
Red is a state of being
Hit your head on the rocks and you'll find
Red comes because you're bleeding.

Wayward hearts!

You told me that you gave your heart to me.
I now would like to collect if you please.
It's not for me it's for another.
I thought I'd sell it to pay off the gambling debts of my brother.

Oh wayward hearts.
Come back home to me.
Oh broken parts.
How I wish they were free.

I sold the heart of Mary Lou who walked by me one day.
Her kidneys and some other organs too, that affair really paid.
And Anna really made me richer.
I sold her shoulder to a baseball pitcher.

Oh wayward hearts.
Come back home to me.
Oh broken parts.
How I wish they were free.
